Raisina Down Under

Date: 05 – 06 November 2024
Time: 3:00pm – 1:00pm
Location: Parliament House, Canberra

The Australian Strategic Policy Institute is delighted to partner with India’s Observer Research Foundation for Raisina Down Under on 5-6 November in Canberra.

Raisina Down Under will focus on geostrategic trends, regional partnerships, economic security, development and innovation, including the green economy transition, the vital role of infrastructure in development, and the Indo-Pacific as the heartland of blue economy growth.

The second time that Raisina has been held in Australia, this year’s event will bring together leading ministers, policy-makers, officials, industry leaders and civil society experts. With the Indo-Pacific going through a period of profound change, we aim to drive discussions that sharpen public debate and increase public understanding in ways that benefit the region.

The event will cover climate change and climate friendly growth, infrastructure that fuels the fourth industrial revolution—such as undersea cables and digital public infrastructure—and the minerals, material and technology needed to deliver the green transition. Importantly, it will tackle the challenges presented by rising strategic competition to which regional cooperation and advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum, semiconductors and 6G are central.

The summit will engage regional groupings and partnerships, such as the Quad, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Co-operation, and the Pacific Island Forum, that are essential to future development, economic prosperity and geopolitical balance.

The Raisina Dialogue is India’s premier conference on geopolitics and geoeconomics. Raisina Down Under shows a commitment by India and Australia to addressing together and with regional partners the most challenging issues facing the global community.
